Most of the time if a photo is going to discolor it takes years, unless you don't store it correctly. Whatever you put it in make sure that it's an archival quality, otherwise eventually it doesn't matter what kind of paper you use it will start to yellow and/or discolor the paper. I always get anything I will store my autos and photographs in from lightimpressions.com they carry all the highest quality archival stuff there is. It can be pricey but it's the only way to make sure that you stuff will stay safe. When I took my first photo class I have all this explained to me, which I'm glad I have so many prints and autographs that I would hate for something to happen to.

Do you have a walgreens by your house? You can upload pictures there. 5x7 for $.19.

Oh, dear! If I never handled it again after I put it in a frame will it do that from when I handled it to mail it? That is alarming. In any event, I'll send anyway and wait for a response :)

Those will work, but I have noticed after a while where people have put their fingers on the photo, the oils discolor those spots over time. Not sure why.

It depends just like any other photos on how it's printed, if you do it at home then you need to use special paper that is archival, because if not then in about 15-20 years it will start to turn yellow. Use something like Ilford, or go to somewhere like Walgreen to print your photos. But if should be fine.

Thanks Dakota, Bob, and Ryan J., this makes everything so much easier. I will PM all of you with the results. I should mail him by February. I'm confident with my camera and printer, they have not done me wrong in the past.

Yes! That's perfectly fine! If you want, you can take your camera to Wal-mart or store that does photos and have them print the photo you took on their professional printers. they use high-quality inks and photo paper. {up} I use them all the time when getting my photos done.

I print out my own photos (for about 80-85% of my requests anyway). They shouldn't fade as long as you store them correctly!
