I do agree with all the above advice, but I would also suggest reading up on past successes to see if it's needed or not. Some celebs will pay for postage, not alot but some will, some will use IRC's and some won't ever send overseas. You should also keep in mind that many post offices no longer carry IRC's, my local post office didn't have any, so they called all the others around, I think there were 3 in my "area" that didn't have any, I had to drive to another town, so I bought all the ones they had, they only had 4

I think adding 3 for 8x10 would be a better idea ;) 5x7 should weight under 20 grams (if there's only one photo) so that'll cost you 0,85 € (but you can check before sending out-that should be under 0.7 oz). I'd suggest you to enclose 1 or 2 IRC's.

Hi!
How are you?
First of all, in Britain they use pounds and not euros so euros are useless there ;) In France you could use them but I think it'll be much cheaper if you buy some French stamps. 5 euros is about 7 or 8 dollars. Priority letter from France to USA that weights under 30 grams (1.1 oz) would cost 1,70 €; under 20 grams (0.7 oz) is 0,85 €. From UK to USA 20g letter would be £0.90, 30g would be £1.35. I found those info on the Royal Mail Website and French Poste Website.
I think it would be cheaper for you to get some UK and French stamps ;)

using euros/dollars?

by notcarlysimon » Sat Jan 02, 2010 11:14 pm

Hi, i had a question and was hoping for some help i was thinking about sending some photos to UK and France to be signed and was wondering if could simply send euros (i have a couple $5 euro bills) to cover shipping back to me? they're 5 x 7's or 8 x 10's. would it be too much too little? how much would it be for us dollars? has anyone tried it? h0ow much does it usually cost to send back two 5 x 7's or two 8 x 10's? Any help would be apreciated!
