At my local post office, people working there don´t even know what they are. Except for the one woman who sells them. So don´t give up, they have it or they´ll order it for you.

Hi _Christopher_,

IRCS still exist :) I just picked a couple up last weekend at my post office. I believe the confusion was there were IRC's that expired in December that had a certain code/number on them (or something like that), but they still make them.

Straight from the USPS website:
Are International Reply Coupons (IRCs) still available?

Yes, the selling price will be $2.10 each. IRCs are exchangeable in any other Universal Postal Union member country for stamps equal to the minimum postage for an air letter.
Hope that helps!

~Annie :)

I managed to use the ones I had before they ran out. I'm sure that the new ones are out there, but they aren't in my area.

Best bet is to trade/buy foreign postage. I've had much better luck using that than the IRC's.

ask to speak to the postmaster and ask if she can order some for you and you can pick them up when they come in, dont let them give you the runaround (-:

Most post officed don't carry them in stock, I went to my post office, and they had to call all other near by post offices, I had to go another city to get mine, I believe I bought 4, I was told that no one uses them anymore so they don't bother to stock them and half the people at the post office I went to had never heard of them

You have to go into your nearest post office and tell them exactly what you want. Talking to them on the phone will get you absolutely nowhere. If the employee at the counter doesn't know what you're talking about, ask for the manager. They DO have them!

You can ask in the "wanted" part of the forum if any member on here would sell them to you.

They are NOT discontinued at all. The old ones ran out on Dec 2009, the new ones that were issued from around October 2009 run until 2013. The amount of places saying they dont exist anymore is ridiculous, and shows they arent doing their job properly.

I have been calling every US Post Office within 100 miles of my location and they all tell me that International Reply Coupons have been discontinued as of December 2009. However, when I called the USPS headquarters, the CS rep told me that they are still available and he hasn't heard of any discontinuation! I proceeded to ask him how I can get some IRCs and he hung up on me! Prick!

Anyway... what have you heard/what do you think?

I really need some IRCs, not just for requesting autographs but to write to my pen pal :(
