I was going to go with an 8x10, but every store I went to only carried 8.5x11 paper. I tried searching the program that came with my printer (HP) but didn't see any options, and came across the options on the printer itself. I do border-less, etc. I'll see if I can find something in a program.

Edit: I found a program to download, HP Photosmart Essentials I believe it's called. Got it to print like I want it now. Just wish the copyright wasn't at the bottom. It's funny, the ink cartridge I had in there, was running out. so it printed the right side of his face with redish tint. Makes the picture look kind of cool though :)

First off, I would print from my computer, you get way more options. Second, when printing I would go to the options, there should be a place where you can set an option to "scale to fit" this will shrink the picture down so it will fit on the whole page. I would get 8x10 photo paper if you were serious and do the same things as described above. Make sure you say "print borderless" or something like that. Otherwise you will have a white border. Note, if you print "scale to fit page" it might leave some of the page blank if it doesn't fit perfectly. For example if the picture is really wide, it will leave room on the 8.5" side, because it will have to make it small enough for the edges to fit. You can crop some of the picture first and try again and it will fit better. I hope that helps, the biggest thing is doing this on the computer, and running test runs (econofast settings).

My question is, I go to google, search for the image, find it in "large" then transfer it to a memory card in my printer. I think am able to use the screen on my printer to select 8.5x11, but my picture gets cut off some.

for example

when I try and print that as an 8.5x11, it cuts off part of the R. Any suggestions?
I use a Word document to size up by pictures and I have never had problems.

How would they know in the store you haven´t bought professional pics in digital format at GettyImages for printing for example?!

Even of things that are completely obvious? I was planning on doing a picture from Avatar, and it has one of the Navi in the picture, so it's pretty obvious.

They'll say that they can't print professonal pictures, some people can be a little rude about it, but for me the hardest part about it is pretending that I didn't know, and it can all be a little weird given what I'm printing, it's hard to be not embarressed especially if they bring out the pictures, I almost feel a need to explain why I'm printing pictures of Yoda and Super Dave. They probably think I'm weird.

Thats why I stopped printing them at Walgreens, it made me feel a little weird at times

It depends on not only the exact store, but also the paticular employee who prints them. I have about 8 walgreens in my city, only 2 will print the pics I need. 1 walgreens will only print them because the 3rd shift people don't care if it's professional, and another walgreens has always printed my pictures without a problem. If you submit them online, it doesn't help your chances at all.

I have been using for most of my pictures, snapfish.com, I've never had a problem with them and from what I hear no one else has either.

Most places print for the same amount of money, it's usually $3 for an 8x10
