Since the normal size photo is 8 x 10 you should send a 9 x 12. That is the size photo that is most common for celebs to send out. If you are interested in getting the most responses you should also send an item to be signed and add postage to the return envelope. If you want to do it inexpensively send a #10 envelope (folded) inside a #10 envelope and include your letter with something like a 4 x 6 photo or an index card.
