Yep. I wasn't even meaning that an actor/actress would give it out. Sorry. I was just wondering if you request one, if they send it or you do, but I understand now!

Let me see if I can better explain what a Playbill is.

Playbills are basically programs for plays that are on Broadway. Only plays that are on Broadway or off-Broadway (occasionally Regional Tours of shows) give out Playbills.

Actors don't give out Playbills. Stage Managers for the specific Broadway shows are the people who typically get Playbills signed by the cast. Occasionally an actor will get a Playbill and sign it - but from my experience (and I've been writing to Broadway shows for over 10 years) it's rare.

If you want to write to an actor/actress on Broadway, it's best that you send your own item to be signed, such as a photo or an index card.

Hope that cleared up a bit.

Do actors send out there own playbills, or do you send them to them?

One key thing you should learn with this hobby is that it's hit or miss. Never send anything you'd regret to lose.

I always take chances - I figure it's usually pretty cheap to take a risk.
Ya, i need to keep in mine that its a hit or miss.

if i send there on March 31 with First Class Mail will it get there on time?

I don't know where you are mailing from but I live about 30mins away from NYC and mail arrives the next day. With the play ending so quickly I think there is a less chance of getting a reply (that is just my opinion- doesn't mean I am right). I wrote to her during the previews and so far have not been lucky and have not gotten a reply. But still waiting. :)

I would say I would think it would arrive on time if you are from the US. Like all requests- if you can afford the postage and don't mine not getting the item(s) back then sent it! You will never know unless you try and the worst that could happen is it doesn't come back. 8)[/quote]

Well i live in CA. And first class mail takes 1-3 days. So, it would get there on the 3rd of April. Should i try?
