There's no problem in re-using stamps that haven't been postmarked, it's just a matter of being able to get them off in the first place.
Try cutting the area of the envelope where the stamp is and soaking it in water (preferably warm.) After a while the stamp will either float off the part of the envelope or it will be easy enough for you to peel the stamp off without much hesitatation. If you can't get it off the first time, leave it to soak for longer and try again. Finally, let the stamp dry on some absorbent paper or a tea-towel (or similar) face-side down.
