Inscriptions can be removed from professionally printed glossy photographs using nail polish remover. If you attempt to remove the inscription from an inkjet print with a liquid you will remove that part of the photo as well. If you are okay with the inscription then buy it, but if you only want it because you thought you could remove it -- then pass on the deal.

Autograph inscription removal safely?

Hello.

A friend of mine is going to sell me a Kareem Jabbar signed photo. it is an 8x10 signed in black sharpie marker on gloss Kodak photopaper and i think it was printed out at his house with a inkjet, but not sure. I was wondering if there is any safe way to movie the inscription "To Phil' on it. I will not buy it if this isnt possible as I only collect sigs either signed to me or jus non personallized. I would try to remove it using rubbing alcohol or water but want to make sure this is possible. Hes only gonna charge me $20 but wasnt to make sure it can be done. Thanks.
