Thanks Bud! I will try! Apolo is very popular so it will probably be mobbed! I understand store policys! They do want to sell as many books as possiable, and if everyone brought a photo it would be way to much!!! The lady at the store was really nice and she said by all means bring something so at least the actual store is not against it! I am not sure how Apollo is with signing autographs eighther

Ps. I will be forward! My birthday is 3 days after that and I will tell him that!!!!!!! Hopefully he will listen LOL!!!!!
I just really want to go for the experience and to meet him! He is my favorite sports person and its a pleasure to be able to meet him and get a signed book!!!!!!!!! Anything extra is fine! I just really want to know what to do just in case!

Ha ha, I know! That's why I said to just take the items along and see what happens. He might be happy to sign a photo for her.

Hi Rebekah,
Still on vacation on the east coast BUT I had to take time and give my two cents about book signings.
Ryan the Duggar family? There's a big differance between them and Apollo. Apollo, like most athelets will draw a lot more people and therefore I can almost assure you no memorbilia will be allowed. Rebekah by all means bring a photo just in case. You never know what might happen. But the whole idea of book signings is for the store to sell books, period. They don't want to tie up selling less books with people bringing in photos/memorbilia. Apollo is nice but its all about store policy.
However since you're only 15 minutes away, you really don't have anything to lose. Just be forward so you're not dissapointed if he doesn't sign anything extra.

Thanks for the info! The lady told me that Apolo will probably not be able to sign photo's but she said to bring it just in case! I understand why they have to put those rules because if they allowed it every person would bring a photo and it would take to much time, but we shall see!!!!!!!!! It's funny the lady is super nice and she has no problem allowing me to bring a photo just in case! It's his publisher thats pushy... At the signing are the publishers nice?

Michele, I am actual going to the book signing in West Chester at the music store that same day in the evening! It's about 15 minutes away!!!!!!! I never really go to book signings because the cost of gas ect............ but hopefully this will be something that I can go to!!! I am super excited!!!!!

Hi Rebekah,

If you are attending a signing at Bookends, (which I believe you have had before) I have attended about 6 events over the past year or so. They usually don't allow much contact with the author/celeb. I always bring a picture to get signed and have never been allowed only the book. Usually they just stick a post-it in the book with your name on it if you want it personalized. I always find it a bit unpersonal, but I love the opportunity to go and the best part is meeting the people in line while you are waiting. {up} I wish they would allow more time but I totally understand since the line is usually wrapped around the block. I have been to smaller events in NYC at comic stores and collectible shops that allow you a few minutes with the signer or a meet & greet hour before the signing. I also think it has a lot to do with publisher and not the author/celeb.

All and all my advice is to just go, smile and say hi....Having a good time is the most important part.

Each venue handles the photo op differently. I'd contact the store before hand and ask if the celeb will also be able to sign items that you bring along. Check their web site, the info might be on there.

Yes, Philadelphia does have great book sigings. I've met a ton of people while there. Check the public library too, they offer regular book signings all year long.

The book signing I attended, there were more than happy to pose for photo ops. {up} But I guess it boils down to who the person is and what type of schedule they have to keep. I'd say take a camera along and if they say Sure! then your alread prepared! :D

 It's funny you mention this I was about to bring up the same subject. Not about Apollo but someone else who is coming to my town and I wondered if book signings are rushed. I know Cd signings are rushed and they push you along sometimes the celeb hardly looks up sometimes they do. I just wonder do they allow photos with?? I have never been to a book signing so I don't know. Any help would be appreciated;)

If you purchase the book in advance, make sure you bring the receipt with you to the signing. Sometimes they will require one or you'll have to purchase another book before they let you get it signed. Also, check to see if the store has a web site. If so, they should have some information there as to any requirements (such as getting other items signed). It's usually up to the store (or his agent) as to whether or not you can get other things signed.

There's no need to be nervous. Even if you are, don't worry about what Apollo thinks -- I'm sure he's used to people being nervous around him when requesting an autograph. The fewer things you have to worry about the better you'll feel. I used to be a bit nervous (and shy too) but have since gotten over it. It goes away once you get used to getting autographs in person. Just politely say hi to him, like you would anyone else, and while he's signing your book ask him if it would be okay to get a photo signed. That's the way I do it and so far it's worked out fine, assuming of course the store does not have an express prohibition on getting other items signed.

Great advice! Thanks for sharing! I think with Apolo is might be different because he is more popular! I will try not to be scarded or shy!!!! And of course I understand if he cannot! I just hope I get to ask him before his publisher answers for him!!!! I know he is very kind to his fans!!!!!
I am hoping that everything will work out fine!!!!!!!!!! If anyone has any more advice I would be more then happy to hear it!!!!!

I am super excited I never thought I would get to meet him! They always have great book signings in Philadelphia but never up close were I live!!!!!!!!!
