When I used to send SAE's, not SASE's, I did that, and I had to pay £1.21 each time. It is cheaper to pay return postage {up}

Hi leela {up}

Basically what you are suggesting (cash on delivery) does not really work in these circumstances :wink:

It depends where you are in the world as well. For example, if a letter is sent to someone in the UK without any postage on, the Royal Mail (UK postal service) WILL deliver it, but the recipient will be charged the full postage plus a £1 fine.

What actually happens is the postman leaves a card telling you you have an "underpaid" letter and you have to visit the post office/sorting office and pay and pick it up.

This is however not very reliable, so I would not suggest it as a standard way of doing things!

Often, if you send your sae to a celeb without any IRCs or stamps on then they will either not bother replying to you, or they will pay the return postage themselves anyway.

Hope this helps!

I believe that what you are suggesting won't work.
