I have no idea if that is right, but either way it's way to much!

I think I remember reading somewhere that an IRC in the UK costs 60p. So, if my conversions are correct (I'm not 100% familiar with the British Pound,) the approximate IRC costs should be as follows:

US - US$1.75
Australia - US$1.85
Canada - US$3.00
UK - US$1.06

If the conversions are correct, you can get your IRC's much cheaper in the UK than in Australia, and almost 3 times compared to Canada. Maybe I should move to the UK to take advantage of cheaper IRC's . It's a bit unfair that some countries can pay much less for IRC's than others! And I thought IRC's in Australia were expensive enough! Can someone confirm if the UK IRC price and conversion to US currency is correct?

You are absolutely right..us Canadians pay $3.50 CND for 1 IRC. Its utterly ridiculous!! We spend almost $10.00 each time we need to send to the UK because of the cost of IRCs. About 2 IRCs, which is about $7.00 plus $3.49 for stamps to the UK. For the USA its a tad cheaper, but luckily if we wanted we can buy USA stamps off the internet.

Thought I would share that since you were all talking about how outrageous the prices are!! Its unbelievable, but if you think about it, it does make sense as each currency is worth different. Has to do with those darn stocks! :? LOL

Hi Lucas42

Don't even think about complaining about the price of an IRC here in Australia, as they're way more expensive in Canada :x

Here's a rough comparison of IRC costs when both the Australian and Canadian dollar is converted into US currency:

USA - US$1.75/IRC
Australia - US$1.85/IRC ($2.50 in Australian dollars)
Canada - US$3.00/IRC ($3.50 in Canadian dollars!!!)

Canadians are almost paying double what we're paying here! It's outragious :(. There are probably other countries where their postal service are also charging ridiculous prices :o

Yeah, there probably are countries that are paying even more, but it has to be very frustrating to know that your 2.50 IRC will be exchanged for .80. Sorry! Wouldn't it be nice if there was just one postage cost? And that it would work everywhere so that you didn't have to keep buying different postage. I know that definatley wouldn't work, but it would be nice if it could work.

Starreyes, you're right {up}.

IRC's bought in Australia does cost a bit more if converted to US dollars (US$1.85 sounds about right.) It's even more annoying when you know the recipient will only be exchanging it for about 0.80 cents in postage in the US!

There are probably other countries who could be paying more for their IRC's when converted to one currency :x!

Wow. I thought that IRC's would cost the same in all the different countries, I mean if you convert them they would cost the same, not that they would just be the same. I hope that makes sense.

They don't cost the same amount! US IRC's cost $1.75 (I think that's still right.) and Australian IRC's cost $2.50 (Again, I think that is right. Or at least I hope so! Correct me if it's wrong) In US dollars that is $1.85, so you guys in Australia are actualy paying more for your IRC's.

I really hope I got all that right. If not I'm sorry, but I hope I did. Feel free to correct me anyone who knows better!

Yeah, they can get really anoying. I mean it's great that you can pre pay for the postage and everything, but I wish there was another way to do it other than buying postage from the county you are sending it to.

Not a problem Lucas42 {up}

IRC's can get a bit annoying sometimes, espeically since they cost so much here!

You are right. An 8x10 photo sent through the mail will require about 2 IRC's.
