Always include SASE. Make it easy for the celeb.
Otherwise nice and sincere letter will always be better than just "hi, I want your autograph, thanks" because some celebrities actually do read their fanmail.
But that is a point of view from a person (me) who is and writes letters as a fan, not an autograph collector.
I only write to people that I admire. On the other hand, why should a collector pretend they love the celeb´s work, while they only want another addition to their collection and otherwise do not really care...
