Which respect, this is innacurate. The US postal system does accept IRCs. Some people have had trouble buying them in certain places, but they have not been discontinued in any way.

IRC's are also out of the question, even if you do manage to get them. US post offices don't accept them anymore.

I believe printing postage also puts a limit on the date it can be used by, usually a day or two, so this wouldn't work.

No, it most likely won't work. I'm pretty sure it has to be done at the location where it is being mailed. In other words, if you are printing the postage in a US city/town, it has to be mailed from that specific zip code. You can't print postage from an overseas postal area and expect it to be accepted in Los Angeles, California.

HI,

I've been away from autograph collecting for a wee while but I am now back. When I collected before I used to put US stamps on my return envelope when requesting from the States. I am pretty sure I just went online and bought the stamps as a big sheet from the USPS website. Now I see they are not taking International Orders (anyone know why not?). I know that IRC's are an option but they seem like a bit of a 'faff' to get hold of - particularly in the middle of nowhere where I live.

So here's the thing. I see that USPS site allows you to print your own postage - like Royal Mail does. Has anyone tried doing that instead of putting stamps or IRC's on their envelopes? Do you think it would work?

Cheers
