Sending letter to US from Czech Republic

by bobrfan » Tue Sep 20, 2011 9:28 pm

Hi, this would be my first attempt to get a signed picture. I have read some topics here about sending letters to US and they were very helpful. I get that part, when I have to get an envelope, photos, smaller envelope and some IRCs but Im lost when I have to count the weight/IRC ratio.

For an example: I get everything ready, the SAE (with photos) weights 5 ounces. UPSP calculated that letter to Czech Rep. weighing 5 ozs will cost 4.78$ with First-class mail service. So if I know IRCs in US are redeemed for 0.98$ I need to put 5 IRCs in the envelope right? Thats not very cheap, one IRC costs here over 2$.

Please correct me if I said something wrong.

Thank you
