I don't use IRCs because they are too expensive. I buy US stamps from a user on here or sometimes I get some dollars from travel agents etc. and send them instead. If you use stamps on your SASEs you're more likely to get a response, especially if sending VV, and it is the cheaper option! 8)

I wondered how to do this when I wanted to send to USA.

In the end I took my envelopes to the Post Office and they advised me.

I bought 2 IRC's for each one (to make sure), then weighed my envelopes which totalled about £2.06 and an airmail sticker which is free. So in total it cost me just below £5 for each one I sent.

Hope this helps, good luck :-)

Explain a forever stamp to me? what It does etc

A forever stamp is a stamp that you can use forever (in the US).
The value of stamp changes and the forever stamp never goes bad. Use it forever! It's also what you'd put on the SASE so they can send from the US to the UK.

I went to the post office today and they said I would probably need:
- 2 International reply Coupons (£1.60 / $2.48) each
- 1 Stamp (£1.10 / $1.71)
Meaning the total to send just 1 letter over to America is (£4.30 / $6.67)

Does anyone know a cheaper way than this?

Depending what you send , it could be even more expensive . I send one or more photos , sometimes with a DVD cover , a card backed envelope and some card for strength , all in a bubble envelope , and it tends to cost £3 - £5 there and back - but it is worth it if you get what you are after back {up}
