Stamp Help (UK-EU)

Hiya,
I'm sending a letter to Germany, and here i have 2 of those 68p stamps (Also say C1 on them if that means anything to anyone) and i was wondering if i have to put them both on or just 1?

Also, 1 last thing, will the Germans be able to translate a handwritten letter(handwriting ain't THAT bad) or should i just type it?

Cheers, Chris. :)
