Why don't you just send pounds instead? If you can get dollars, you can get pounds as well, and then the celebrity doesn't have to go and pay to turn the dollars into pounds, and then ending up paying for the postage anyway. ^^

Sending UK stamps would be the better way to go, but I've had a success with Phil Collins and Roger Federer with us $

Why do people still continue to tell people to send these when most post office workers have never heard of them and very few post offices provide them?

This used to be the case, but as of December 2011 Royal Mail officially withdrew them.

See here

Once a PO's leftover stock goes, they will be no more.

*please note sending an IRC to the UK is still fine!

To the OP, I suppose US$ would be ok, but UK stamps would be even better.

I live in Tampa, FL, and was told by the postmaster general that no post office in the county carries IRCs any longer.

I've worked with a lot of UK actors, (mostly Star Wars) and we have spoken about TTM. Most have received IRC and had no idea what to do with them. Also a lot said they had a lot of US $ building up but said it was a pain as they can only exchange them once the money had built up as if you exchange only a few $ the bank etc take their %. So in the mean time they have to pay for postage themselves and most tended to get 2 or 3 requests a week.
I would suggest swapping stamps on here. There are several people that offer the service but if your stuck for stamps PM me.

Good luck

Buy stamps from someone in here? Or online. It costs £1.90 MAX for a flat rate 230mm x 160mm envelope weighing no more than 100g and 5-10mm thick. But as the other guy said IRC are widely available there in the US, I can't find them here in the UK

Hi, I send US dollars to celebs who live outside the US and so far there hasn't been a problem. I usually send between 2 and 4 dollars because I can't get IRCs.
