Help : Alien Franchise Cast Autographs Project

by Tomwazza » Sun Sep 02, 2012 2:43 pm

Hi,

I'm hoping that I can get some comments & opinions on my plan...

I'm a big fan of the Alien franchise and as I own the 25th anniversary Alien box set (see below) I thought it would be cool for me to send the plastic cover (see attached) away to the actor’s agents to see if it can be autographed. However the cover is reasonably large at approx. 650x200x200mm, it doesn't look that big sat on my desk, but it is clearly a lot more sizeable than a photo. Would it be good to call the agent first to see if this would be OK?

I've already semi-written a letter that I'm probably going to use as a template for each actor/actress, and change just one paragraph within it to customize it. I've kept it mostly about me and how much I love the franchise and concept, rather than brown nose and tell them how great they are lol. But is this the right way to go?

I'd love to get some feedback on pens to send in the parcel too, the ones I've tested so far have been pretty poor, and I was wondering what type gives the nicest flow.

Also, how do I go about paying for its return? Should I include a certain amount of cash, or a cheque, or can i pay for postage both ways at the post office? Or do they receive it and then forward it on to the actor/actress, then it gets returned to the agent and then back to me, so should I include an amount that covers three lots of postage costs?

I've never done anything like this before, but any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom.

P.S. sorry for the slightly erratic post :)
