I concur completely.
To SWFan 2 your biggest issue will be with the actual venue your sending to. Otherwise treat it just like any other LOR (the only thing different you must do is include something to be signed). I send for example a fan LOR, SASE.& photo to be signed & that's it. If able look up the venue here to check & see if its friendly to passing on or holding letters for the celebrity. Just give yourself at least a week to get your package there & hopefully a day or two after the event you'll receive your item signed & we can all celebrate your success!!

I have had VV successes, just never from one night only venues. Here are some questions I have:what do I write on the envelope, what do I send, will the celebrity even get my letter? Is sending to one night only venues very hard to receive a reply from?
