or you use any envelope that can fit and 8x10 and put in a thin piece of cardboard.

I think that way would be cheaper, because I think postage for a photo mailer would be more then a envelope with a thin piece of cardboard.

But both will work the same and protect the picture.

The 9x12 photo mailers are best because they cant be bent.
