My advice is to start small and keep it simple. Don't send anything that you can't afford to lose, because some actors/actresses don't write back. Photos are usually good to start with, especially ones you print out yourself. Write a short letter explaining your request. Ask them to personalize the autograph to you ("To Diego"), and you may be more likely to get a successful return.
