Have you tried rubbing down the cards with a pencil eraser (the white ones, not the pink ones)? This gets rid of the gloss and helps the autograph "stick" to the card. Might be a cheaper alternative to buying a new pen!

Oh okay, they are match attax cards, there not shiney or foil, just standard really a little but glossy. sharpies don't usually smudge but sometimes they do.

Got any other good pens I could try?

I meant the surface of your trading cards!

A very glossy surface means that the ink might be smudged on your picture, because ink doesn't attach very well on glossy trading cards.
