I personally have never seen index cards be used for their actual purpose and only ever autographs. I have used them in the past and haven't felt good about it so I referred to them as "flash cards" LOL. If I received fanmail with index cards I'd assume they were for a collector rather than a fan. My favourite things to send are DVD/Blu ray covers but obviously you have to decide if its worth the risk - even with celebrities who DO regularly sign. I have over 100 requests still outstanding from within the year 2008 alone (my biggest year of send outs) and a fair few naked DVD cases on my shelf haha!

i have sent some of the celebs index cards and they signed or included their own photo. it depends on what you say in the letter also. sometimes index cards mean that you do not have enough money to buy a photo, and not really that you are a collector. :)

Photos, photos, photos! Index cards really do highlight the fact that you're a collector.

Are celebrities more likely to sign photos or index cards? What is your experience?
