I sent a few letters a couple months ago to Georgie Henley, Ben Barnes, Anna Popplewell, and James McAvoy (via venue, since I know he usually sends preprints). I was able to send them from the US to the UK/Canada with international postage, however, I couldn't include postage from the UK/Canada back to the US on my SAE, as its not sold where I am (nor are IRCS). Has anyone received a response from any of these 4 actors WITHOUT using postage on the SAE? Please do comment! Otherwise there's probably no hope in receiving a response from them.

Including a few bucks it's not bad at all :) And I hope you get a reply, I got my first autograph without having sent a stamped envelope nor money for postage :)

I sent to an actor in the UK and included my SAE, but was unable to get UK stamps so I sent $2 to show him that I was willing to pay for postage.

In addition, my letters were already sealed when brought to the post office (I did not want to rip them open at the counter in front of a long line to add money to them) and I don't (personally) think sending money through the mail, overseas always best, especially if its to multiple people at once.

My question was simply asking if one had received a response from any of those four actors (not all of those 4 actors/actresses are difficult to "obtain" autographs from) after sending in the same manner as I.

I do plan to resend letters with a UK international stamp, but I wanted to ask out before doing so and receiving a reply from my first letter.

Hey, I wasn't intending to make you think you're ignorant, was just trying to explain a good way to go around it. Sticking a couple of dollar bills in an envelope isn't that big a deal... that's how most of us deal with requests to the States from over here. From experience, all four CAN be difficult, depending on the time of year. Ben Barnes went through a LONG period of either not signing or sending out presigned pics which had a habit of smudging with sec dedications for example. I recently managed my first McAvoy via his agent, so it does happen from time to time. Difficult though.

Truth be told, you'd have been better include a couple of $$, to at least show you were willing to pay for postage. Chances are you might have got it back again, but posting without payment for return is foolish, especially with those who are hard to obtain at the best of times.
