So I'm sending a 9x12 envelope with Canadian postage (as I'm sending from Canada to US). Inside the envelope is another self addressed envelope which contains my LOR, 2 photos, and 1 IRC (as I can't get any US postage here). Is that enough or should I send 2 (or 3?) IRCs? Thanks a bunch for all the help so far- I'm brand new to this and I'm super excited to get started!
You must have skimmed through my message, and accidentally missed what I said, but it costs around $5 to send to Canada from the United States. So, being that IRCs are only worth $1.10, you're going to want to enclose 5 of them.

If you go to www.usps.com they have a price calculator, and each IRC is worth $1.10 in the US, so you should be able to work it out {up}

Alternatively you could get some US$1 bills through a bank or travel agency (these are the places to get them in the UK so I am assuming Canada also).

Or Bri0626 here on the forum sells US stamps, although she is only able to offer this kind service for about 6 weeks more.

Whoops my mistake, totally got confused, sorry :oops:

My answer should have been US stamps on the SASE will work :) It's always a good idea to provide return postage, so for US to Canada that would be IRC's, US$ bills or US stamps.
Yep, that's exactly right. So you either enclose an SASE with 8-9 US stamps ($0.46 each), or enclose about $5 with the SASE! {up}

No, but you can enclose more IRCs, or enclose $4+ and enclose a letter that let's them know what it's for.
Canadian stamps would be fine too {up}
