Thanks guys!
I got in contact with one of my favorite authors, and she has agreed to sign my book.
I really like the bookplate idea! I'm definitely gonna have to try that one out!

I've sent 100s of self-made bookplates. I used to print them on adhesive stickers so they could be stuck into the book, but I now just print on paper and glue them in. One author I had 18 books of & I emailed him to ask if it was ok for me to send that many. Not only did he say yes, when he signed he wrote a little blurb about why we wrote that particular book on EACH bookplate. Another author said not to bother sending a bookplate ... he just sent me a signed book. Another I asked to sign a card for me & he sent a signed copy of his book as well, while yet another signed a few book plates but also sent a signed copy of one of the books that I made a bookplate for. They mostly seem very happy to sign bookplates & these don't take up too much space in a standard envelope.

True. My sister wrote to her favorite author and the author sent little pieces of papers for each oh her books with the name of the book on it and a autograph on each one. Then sent stickers that said autographed copie

There are a couple of authors I would like to send to, but my questions is, what can I send besides a book?
Some authors, it's hard to find a photo of. And I was thinking a plain old photo/index card would be kinda boring.
Has anyone sent an author anything besides those things?
Thanks!
I have just written to an author. I am willing to send him a book, but I have written him first if it was okay to do so. You can send a photo or an index card!
