Your phrasing as to asking to sign a photo is fine
Like acwilliams said, you should include a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with your letter.
This envelope will have your address as the address to send the envelope to. Stick enough stamps on it so whomever you're writing to can put the photo on your envelope and send it back.
If you're sending to someone who isn't in the country where you are, instead of sticking stamps, send some International Reply Coupons (IRC). Information about IRC's can be found
