Has anybody ever had problems mailing to China/Hong Kong?

Hello,

I recently sent a ttm to Jackie Chan in Hong Kong. I sent it in a 10x13 manilla envelope with a photo, SASE, LOR, $5, sealed and taped shut. I'm kinda wondering if I should've wrapped the whole thing in tape, because I'm not sure if international mailing is reliable (losses, damages, etc. to a package). Has anybody ever had problems mailing to China? Did you take extra precautions with the package? I appreciate the input, thanks.
