Thanks Kimmylee! :) what i had read stated that due to a postal pact or something like that this was possible.

No that isn't true.

The UK post office will not accept US stamps as payment.

Just as the US post office will not accept UK stamps as payment

:)

For a US to UK request you need US stamps on the letter going to the celeb, and UK stamps on the envelope coming back to you.

I heard on another thread that us 1st class stamps can be used by the reciever in uk as 1st class uk stamps. Is this true? Many thanks for replies.
