You don't know Walt very well do you? He doesn't need a reason to be rude.

I have heard others try it and I have done it once. But I didn't get that request back.

If they had simply typed "money for return postage" into the search feature linked on the top right & selected "Feedback" from the forum list, they would have known that.

But instead, like a lot of other users on this forum, they can't bother doing their own research & expect the answers to be spoonfed to them.

And, yes, that entitlement is a reason to be rude.

This forum used to be for genuine questions, not people who can't put in 5 seconds to look something up for themselves.

You were a mod in the good old days--you know that.

ETA: That doesn't even include the reasons it's a stupid question to begin with.
1) People wouldn't keep advocating it if it never once worked.
2) It's the equivalent of asking "do people sign if you don't send a picture" or "will people still sign if I don't include a SASE"--it varies from person to person. Yes, people do. Will they in this case? How the heck would we know?!

General questions like this, asked repeatedly/answered elsewhere or not, do nothing except bury legitimate topics with real questions.

I did not have a way to get stamps and decided to provide 2 dollars with my letter and mentioned why I did it. I know the celebrity and their secretaries probably don't want to deal with that, but I wanted to know if anyone had success in receiving autographs after including money with their letters. Thanks

Yes. Duh.
