And also, you shouldn't put US stamps on your envelope

It's your included reply envelope, the SASE, which should have US stamps. I can't imagine that a C4 envelope + a picture could weigh 500g.
However, if your SASE + picture weigh 500g, it's about 18 ounces which is
10.40$.
This is why I wonder if your return package will weigh 500g:
One time I sent a C5 envelope including C4 envelope (same size as yours I believe) and an A4 sized picture... this all only weight 50g or less!
Therefore I'm pretty sure 2 or 3 ounces postage will be enough, 1.70$ or 2.55$
