If I don't send a photo I fold up a 9x12 for the star to use-I put two us first class forever (.49) stamps on it.

Some people only respond if you send a photo but some send there own. I know Melissa is great with fanmail and I think she might provide a photo if you send the envelope. You might search her history to see what others sent.

Generally you have better luck if you send a photo. I pick one I like and take it to Copy Max and have them print it on photo quality paper. If you pick the right picture and don't enlarge it you can get pretty good results. It also allows you to send one specifically from [i]Sabrina the Teenage Witch[/i] so you don't get one from [i]Melissa and Joey[/i]. You can also ask the celebrity if they would provide a picture. Kind of iffy there. I did it that way early on, before I knew what I was doing, but I wouldn't now.

Some people send an 8x10 SASE folded inside of another 8x10. I send an unfolded 8x10 inside of a 9x13 envelope. You can also add a sheet of cardboard to keep it from getting folded. I think it generally costs about $1.40 without the cardboard and $1.60 with. You can check with the Post Office when you go to mail it. Just don't seal the outer envelope until right before you send it in case you have to add more postage to the SASE. Of course, write "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes.

I'm wondering what to send as my SASE if I am not providing the photo to the celeb.

Here's the situation -
My 7 year old daughter's currently loving Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I thought it would be great to surprise her with an autograph in the mail from Melissa Joan Hart.

I've been researching how to send the request to Ms. Hart however, I have no photo to send. Can I request a photo from that particular show in my letter? I've seen them posted in success stories on this site. How do I know what size SASE and how much postage to put on it if I am not providing the item to be autographed? Years ago I knew celebs to sign 8x10s but the instructions I'm reading about what to send say to send a small envelope as my SASE.

Please help with proper size for my SASE and how many US forever stamps to put on it?
