I forgot to mention maybe try sending them in punch pockets of sorts inside your envelope, maybe alternative pockets which might help?

I've never had a smudge so would assume its down to their pen, I think most have sharpies on stand by.

I just send index cards to save on postage.
When I get the index card I print a picture of the celeb and frame them together.
We send 4x6 pictures so pretty much same on postage. I ordered blank business cards from vista print and send those sometime instead of a pic smaller than index cards but stores easier

I've never had a smudge, the ink settles better on non glossy photographs.
Thanks ill try those

I get some of my autographs back smudged where the celeb or whomever puts the pic in my SASE before it dries but I send glossy pics would satin prints work better n stop some of the smudges or is there a better way to stop smudging
