I would recommend you check imdb to see if they are alive. Lots of classic actors don't have agents/companies anymore so they are harder to find.

Hi guys, this is chris.
im a newbie to this TTM collecting. I am sending out my first 15 requests today. there are a few names that i am unable to find on this site. Is there another place i could look? how would i even know if these guys are alive? some of them were in movies back in 1988 and were near 70 back then.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some (like NASA astronauts) send photos for the asking. But generally, and the polite thing to do is, send a photo or other item you want signed when making your request for an autograph.
