You know how every website is given a set number of space, well every website is also given a set number of bandwidth.

If you go over this limit your site won't work until the end of the month. You use banwidth by how many people veiw your site, how many images you have and where your images are veiwed. For example if someone takes one of my icons/avatars and places it on a popular forum, more people will be seeing it which takes up more of my bandwidth. It works the same if someone takes awhole batch of my icons/avatars and puts them on their site, it wouldn't take up theirs as the image is still linked to my site.

Hope that explains it a little more.

A word of warning though, I run an icon community on LJ and don't like people just copy and pasting the link, it takes up MY bandwidth. I know alot of other people feel the same way about it.

If you want one I'll make you one, just give me an image.

If you find an avatar on the internet you like you can either find the URL for it and copy and paste it into the box at the bottom of your profile labled URL for Avatar or you can do what I did and make my own and just upload it by clicking browse and finding it on your system.
