I found out today that postage for shipping a 12.5x9.25 cardboard envelope (the ones that they sell at Wal-Mart) is $1.83. A standard 9x12 SASE (which I put into the 12.5x9.25 cardboard envelope) costs $0.68 to ship.

id go to walmart. i get 25 envelopes for 3.00 dollars. i dont think you should buy envelopes at the post office, because is wicked expensive.

Well, it's not hard to stick an SASE into a cardboard envelope if you do what I do. I use a 12.5x9.25 carboard envelope & I stick a 9x12 paper SASE envelope inside. I write Do Not Bend on the cardboard envelope & I write Photograph Do Not Bend on the paper 9x12 SASE paper envelope.

If you send a cardboard envelope, its hard to stick a sase one in...

so IMO, just get the cheaper ones and write DO NOT BEND everywhere, chances are unless your mail man is a (bleep)hole :P it will be okay

My local Wal-Mart in Trexlertown, PA sells those cardboard envelopes which you mentioned. The cardboard envelopes have a size of 12.5x9.25. The price is around $.97 each, I know, I bought 10 of them last week at my local Wal-Mart. With these, you can put your SASE inside of it & it will be very difficult to bend.

So, I would suggest for people to check out their local Wal-Mart's because they might carry these envelopes.

Yes. 9x12 envelopes are, IMO, the best because they house all sizes of photo's. Some celebrities send 4x6's, 5x7's (SFM is know to use this size), 8x10's, et al.

In fact, if you print up your own pictures for the celebrities to sign (I also print up my own pictures), then the large photo paper which Wal-Mart, Circuit City, et al sells is 8.5x11 so a regular 8x10 envelope won't do since the paper is larger so a 9x12 is much better.

In fact, some celebrities ask people to send a 9x12 SASE, I know that the Charlie Daniels Fan Club which can be contacted thru the email address of charlied60@aol.com, the fan club responds back to send a 9x12 SASE.
