The problem with sending it too early (in particular to a concert venue which may only run for a few days) is that your request can:

- Come back as RTS (I've seen it happen before)
- Be forgotten, as staff have other priorities between the time they receive your request and the time the celebrity is performing
- Can be put in the garbage altogether (accidentally or intentionally)

For concert venues, it's best that it's sent close to the date of performance, as staff members there can have time to sort, and forward mail onto the relevant artist performing. There is less opportunity for it to be forgotten this way.

Definitely, via venue may not give the celebrity the chance to bring along stamps, photos etc., so you should always send something for them to sign and a SASE.

I think you should send it on or around November 25th. That gives the letter just enough time to get there while still being a little early.

Good luck!

Hi ChemicalsXreacT :D

I'm not sure how long your package will take to arrive at the venue from where you are (you'll probably have to check out the USPS website), but aim to have it arrive at the venue between 2-3 days and a week before whomever you're writing to performs.

E.g. If it takes 2 days for your package to be mailed from NY to FL, you should aim to send it between 4 days and 9 days before the celebrity performs.

How far away in the US? Then you will probably have more of an exact answer.
