COINS

by Magoo » Thu Dec 07, 2006 12:15 pm

thats a tricky one!....apart from anything else the weight of a pound coin could tip the balance into a more expensive postage class, not to mention the risk of someone realising its a coin and stealing it!

do the post office in ireland do postal orders and if so could they be cashed in england? or could you buy english stamps via the post office website like they can be ordered rom the us post office?....sorry thats as far as my thinking goes.

Thanks

Thanks I didnt know we could get american stamps delivered to the uk!

Keith, Looks like it may just be my post office that has stopped supplying IRCs, ill try the bigger post office in town failing that ill resort to ordering stamps

I find that really strange (not that I'm doubting you or anything), because I just bought 20 IRCs from my post office yesterday, and nobody mentioned anything about them stopping. In fact, I cleaned out their supply, and they're just awaiting on some more coming in too.

I've also just checked the royal mail website and there is a section about IRCs but nothing about them stopping. The new IRCs being used are valid until 2009.

I found with my local post office, that they just stopped ordering them due to insufficient demand. That might be what has happened at your post office branch.

Maybe a bigger post office branch may be able to help.

Hi Im in the UK and Ive just been to my local post office to pick up some international reply coupons, and have been told that this service is no longer available in the UK......can anyone suggest a solution?

I did think about getting US dollars from the travel agents and sending cash, but am unsure of how much to include etc.
