I think it is kind of rude to send a photo/SAE and no postage. You have to remember that any celebrity you write to
has no obligation of sending something back to you, and you run the risk of losing anything you send.
If you send something and want it returned, paying for return postage is the way to go. It's more out of courtesy and politeness above anything else.
Celebrities recieve hundreds of thousands of requests per day/week/month and they don't work just to pay for postage to reply to fan mail. It's easier for them to ignore requests without return postage. As such, paying for postage is the way to go
