Although writing to the artists/groups management is usually your best bet, I have had a pretty good success rate by writing to record companies.

Actually, since I am collecting for charity I find the record companies better, as they tend to send you signed CDs and posters etc which are great for fundraising. {up}

Since I don't write for a personal response though, I am not sure how forthcoming they are to private collectors.

Hope this helps :mrgreen:

Your best bet is writing to the band's manager, agent or PR person. You can usually find out who this is by looking inside the CD booklet, it'll credit the management and so forth somewhere in there e.g Westlife - Managed by Solo Management. Once you get the name you can google the company and there should be a 'contact' page on their website, that provides their postal address. Thats what I do for alot of bands/singers. BMG/SONY is a very good company when it comes to fanmail response though, still trying out others.

Hello! ;)

Personally, I've never got a reply by sending to a record company. Before I met the Black Eyed Peas, I've wrote to them countless times through their record company with no luck. :(

Your best bet is to write via venue, most singers and bands reply! :)

Good luck!

I don't know much..I've NEVER gotten a success from sending through a record studio. It's probably because it's not always permanent and it's not a management company for some...it's like they just go there like once a year to record music or something.

Hopefully, this is the right place to ask this...
How good are record companies on passing on fanmail?? I know that Hollywood Records are horrible, but what about the others? Are they pretty good about passing on fanmail??
