be careful with the scrapbooks. Most of them will say "archival safe" but watch out for those that don't say "acid free" There are aisles in many craft stores that have tons of scrapbooking things, and the vast majority are acid free.

If you want to keep your collection in the best of shape, you'll have to spend a little bit of money for the acid free to preserve it.

Thanks for all the responses. I think ill get an acid free album for my friend, but im going to look into the scrapbook idea for my own signed photos as long as they won't be damaged.

Thanks everyone {thumb2}

I personally store my photos in an expensive photo album. These are the ones that come with a sticky back and a film like paper on top. It prevents the autograph from fading, scratched and also getting dust on it. The sticky back can be a nuisance when taking the photo out again, but so far no problems.

However, I like FatimaDemark's idea better in your case

You can basically get them in any paper/hobby store. I got mine in a paper/book store. They are called scrap albums or scrap books. Ask for paper corners to get the corners. Just make sure they are big enough to hold your pictures in place

Hi there :D

Great present idea :) I'd put them in a scrap book with paper corners :) That's what I did to avoid the whole which-kind-of-plastic-to-use thing plus it's super fast.

Good luck,

Giving as a present, storage question ?

by spellbound » Wed Feb 27, 2008 7:34 am

I have sent of endless letters to the hollyoaks cast as my friend is a HUGE fan and i may aswell put my hobby to good use {up} I was hoping to give them in some form of a photo album but obviously don't want them to get ruined. Any tips for what type of photo album to get or another way in which i could display them to give as a present?

Any help very much appreciated =]
