I would love for this to be true , Lizanne , but some are just as likely to tear your items up from afar as they are likely to spit on you , shout at you , ignore you or run away from you if you ask them in person . Added to that , even those that do autograph your stuff or send you a " signed " photo , very rarely write letters nowadays . Of the 30/40/50 replies I have had in the last year , I have got 3 long letters , and a couple of notes - the rest you have to be grateful if they sign your stuff and/or send it back .

Er, I'm not talking about celebrities who
refuse letters...

This topic is about celebrities, who
usually reply to fan mail, for example Wentworth Miller or Dakota Fanning - not Brad Pitt or Britney Spears!

- and they wouldn't refuse letters or reply to someone in the US but not from Europe! {thumb2} Obviously Brad would'nt reply to his fan mail and I've seen a letter from Jake Gyllenhaal's agent saying he doesn't sign.

But I have seen celebrities replying to rather strange letters, as there's a member here who sends weird letters!

I've
never had a letter refused, so far I've received almost all of my requests back signed and personalised, all great successes as I'm a fan, not an autograph collector!
Good luck collecting,
Lizanne[/quote]
I only write to people who I am a fan of / like the films of / appreciate the talent of / am interested in - no matter if that is a wide range or small range . I like the stars of old ages , maybe not in the same way as I like the actors from Doctor Who , or other TV series / or certain films , but not in a lesser way - I see these older actors as STARS - they have been popular for far longer than David Tennant say . So , it is not because I am only after the autograph that I do not get letters - but because I am a fan , I am happy not to get a letter because I know thay are busy .
