It depends on the size. If you will let me know the size (and what's in it [letter, sase, photo etc]) I can get that info for you.

Just a letter to England is 0.94, which is a little more than 2 stamps but a letter to LA from the US is just one stamp.

I dont' usually go to the post office. I just go to the post office website and you can caculate postage. Depending what you're sending

When sending something overseas you need to go to a window clerk at the Post Office to make certain there is enough postage, (you don't want it returned as postage due)

For the typical 8x10 envelope, I use 4 stamps for each. I've had them weighed at the Post Office and 4 First Class stamps are enough.

i live in oregon, so writing to the UK how many do i use?

that was my main question, but also how many when writing to LA?? i usually put 4 on
