I absolutely understand you, and did say in my post, that via venue is a much better way to obtain, an authentic {thumb2} :D and everyones happy :lol: :lol:

I'm begining to have a little trouble, writing to celebs via their agent, as in a lot of cases a paid secretary is working at the next desk, and spends most of her working life, sending out signed photos that she did {down} :mad: :roll:

Having said that, I know of a couple of agents, who at least have some stars, on their books, who will be more then happy to sign for us {thumb2} {thumb2}

And as ever there is always the wonderful, BBC'S incoming mail address to write to. they can be absolutely wonderful sometimes. {up} {up} :mrgreen:

I personally like home addresses. You can be sure that the celebrity is going to personally read your letter, and you might get a special inscription that someone who wrote elsewhere wouldn't get.

I've received many replies from home addresses, and each reply was always better than what I would've gotten from an agency/lawyer/manager, ect.

I've never had any problems with home addresses. Only thing negative about home addresses I've encountered is that some people don't respond, and they keep your stuff ( BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!!!! {nonono} ) :lol:

I don't really agree with it, but if you do it, don't post the feedback.

Thanks for all the replies guys :D

Okay, so I sent the letter to the celeb's home address, but I made it clear that I completely understood if they didn't want to sign or whatever. I'm not going to give the name of the celebrity because I found the address relatively easily so I don't want people just looking for it for the sake of it.
So, I'll keep you guys updated on if I receive anything back {up}

This is a catch 22, because we all respect the privacy of celebrities it's easy to just say "No don't do it" but I do understand the urge to want to use it. It seems it would be easiest. It really is a hard think to say "yes" or "no" to so in all reality it really is your call.

is it ethical to write to the star at home, i'm 50/50 on this, if there someone you wanted to get and the only adress you got was there home address and it work, why not, but then again how would you like it if you loads of mail at your house requsting an autograph lol

Hi,
I do not recommened you to send to celebs via their home address. It is a rude thing to do. Autograph collecting is our hobby but we cannot intrude celebs privacy just to get a signed pic.

Well as I have said before, we already have loads of celebs home addresses on our database.

And these stars, have never told us not to write to them. Indeed a few celebs (but not all) find this an easy way to handle their fanmail, but please NEVER EVER use their kindness as an excuse to just pop by, this is stalking and it will be handled in the strongest terms possible.

Plus the star themselves will never sign another autograph, for anybody.

The safer way, is via venue as it does'ot endanger the celeb in anyway at all.

I also use private addresses at times and think it's ok to do that. If they do not appreciate it they can simply throw the letter away. I mean, of course, it's often the only place where the celeb is with his/her family alone and in peace without the press watching every step but writing a letter is still not as bad as waiting in front of the house or even stalk the celeb... Just my two cents {thumb2}

I also think this is good way to get an autograph from our favourite star. For example Jim Carrey or Denzel Washington send only PPs and if I could find their home address I would use it. If this is the only way I think it's good.
