I have mailed to the UK (I'm in the US) and just stick the letter in my mailbox. The prices for sending out of the country are different, so you have to be careful about that.

I also add the word "International" to the envelope--it used to be "Airmail" (at least for the US).

Hope this helped. {up} If you have further questions feel free to pm me or ask again.!

Best of luck with you letters!

Well all I can say is, when I'm sending a letter to a foreign country, I take it into the Post Office to get weighed, because sometimes the prices can be different each time. I took the same type of envelope with the same amount of paper inside, to the same PO twice in one week, and the prices were different. So I always have it checked out so I know the postage is correct. So, if I wasn't already in the UK (and already knew the exact prices) this is what I would do.

It is a pain not being able to simply post it, but rather that than not paying enough.

I usually go to the post office, but as long as you put the correct amount of postage on the envelope and address it correctly you can just drop it in the correct mail box (as long as it's under 13oz.). ( I am going to assume that you can just throw it in your mail box and put the flag up, but if you aren't going to the post office you may want to drop it in a standard mailbox- not just your residential).
