Very nice opinions, everyone! {thumb2}

Qwerty
That's true, Qwerty. {thumb2} I agree with you.

Also with IP, if you meet someone you really like and they're either rude or they're not what you expected, that makes you loose interest in them, and they loose their luster to you.
That's very well put Chris and I definitly agree with you there. {up} I know I've met some in person and they were really aweful, and I lost interest, because everytime I see them, I just remember that experience. :( And I like getting autographs TTM, it's always so unexpected and it's a nice surprise to see who wrote to you. :mrgreen: Also, just the thought that someone spent a few minutes, in their spare time, thinking about and replying to specially you, that's overwhelming. {up} I really enjoy it! :D

I know, I always just end up being a mute when I meet a famous person, and then when I look back at the experience, it feels like I've wasted such a good oppertunety! :roll: Because I'm quite shy, I also find it easier to rather write what I want to say than speaking! :lol:

Thanks for the replies everyone, obviously most prefer in person, but it's still interesting to hear why. {thumb2}

Thanks,
zanne

I voted for personalized TTM. I'm speechless every time I meet a famous person anyway. So a letter is much easier for me to express myself ;-) The only extra point goes with the authenticity of IPs like los_859 said. But that's it for me :mrgreen: ;-)

I'd prefer getting them In Person if I had a choice. But this is partly because I don't value personalized autographs as high as other collectors anyways; and obtaining celebs IP is always more exciting {thumb2} ;-)

I personally like TTM personalized as opposed to IP autographs because the TTM's they take their time signing, and you get a neat signature (usually).

Also with IP, if you meet someone you really like and they're either rude or they're not what you expected, that makes you loose interest in them, and they loose their luster to you.
That is what i meant. Sorry if i wrote it incorrectly

I would rather get it IP because the experience of meeting them would be wonderful. And if the celebrity was mean then i know that i should not be a fan of them.

Hey :D

I would rather meet them IP and then send them the photo to sign :mrgreen: But then if I look like I've been slapped round the face, I'd rather meet them IP, like outside a concert place and have a chat members of a band, as most of the bands I like are relatively small.
I was sat outside a venue for five or so hours under a mattress protector with seven or so other people, after I had just had a rather terrible McDonalds meal, and the band we were seeing, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus [www.myspace.com/redjumpsuit] seemed to appreciate it so they had a chat with us. Plus, the guitarist and bassist of the band are quite good looking :lol:

I'd much rather meet someone IP, and have a chat with them. It seems a lot more personal and something you can remember, and something to make your friends jealous about :mrgreen:

Thanks for the answers, Michelle and Romana! :D I haven't voted yet myself, still deciding. :lol: But both of you gave very good answers. {thumb2} I haven't met many "big stars" yet, the biggest probably Black Eyed Peas and Jonny Wilkinson. {up} The Black Eyed Peas were nice, but the security really ruined the experience! :roll: Jonny was very nice and down-to-earth, that was great meeting him. {thumb2} I've met some other rugby players, much less famous than Wilkinson, and they were really aweful (most New Zealand players...). :neutral: They don't sign, so I'm not interested in them. {down} So meeting celebrities can swing both ways - good and bad, and when it's bad it's just an unpleasant memory which I'd rather not have. Also, with some celebrities, they seem much nicer replying TTM than in person, so then I would rather have a good memory of them by getting an autograph TTM than meeting them in person and stick with bad memories. {up}

I agree with you Romana - both in person and TTM have their pro's and con's. {thumb2} I also don't mind chatting to them in person, just getting an autograph means enough to me, I haven't really had a conversation with a star before, a little bit with the Black Eyed Peas though (if security didn't look). :) But that's ok. ;-) Yes, getting a personalised autograph in person would be absolutely perfect, but that has never happened to me before. :(

At the end of the day, I enjoy "interacting" with my favourite celebrities, whether it's in person or a letter TTM! :mrgreen:

Thanks!
zanne
