Also, the last time a member here got a success from him with only a SAE was on 31 October 2008. {up} I think you have a chance if you have no other way of paying for return postage - good luck Katie!! :mrgreen:
I'm writing/sending it out today and that's what I plan on doing. Hopefully it works!!!!

Do you think they will?

Believe me, it stinks to live in such a small town that your post office doesn't carry IRCs. SO many autographs I've wanted that I've had to not send to because of it. LAME.
I know what you mean, Katie - there aren't any IRC's available in South Africa. :roll: They told me they don't sell it because there aren't any interest in them. :neutral: I've read in Cristiano Ronaldo's autobiography "Moments" (must read for any Ron fan - you'll love him even more after reading it!) that he prefers that fans send SASE - a quote from his book: "...in one month I have spent more than two thousand pounds on envelopes and stamps!". :shock: So, from that quote it does seem that he will probably reply if you only send a SAE, so I think you could just tell him in your letter (I'm assuming you want to write to Ronaldo) that there were no way for you to get IRC's or UK stamps - I'm pretty sure he would understand your problem. {thumb2}

:? I don't recommend it because the first time I wrote to Ronaldo I sent just a letter and I never got a reply. Only after my second try, when I included a SASE, did I get an authentic clubcard back - inside my SASE. {up}

Hi Katie! ;-)

I recommend sending each letter seperately to each player you'd like an autograph from, especially with Manchester United. {thumb2} If you write to multiple players in the same request, you'll receive a preprint team photo. :neutral: If you want an authentic signed (except for a few players, such as Rooney, amongst others, who sends out stamped autographs) club card, you should address the envelope to the specific player. :)

I know that some players occasionally reply with just a SAE, but you will have a much better chance of getting a reply with a SASE or IRC. {up} I sent a SASE to Cristiano Ronaldo and he sent me a signed clubcard back in my SASE. :)

Good luck Katie! :D

I think you should send separate requests.
When I sent out to Van der Sar, I just politely told him that as I am overseas, I do not have any stamps for a SASE. He sent back a club card in his own envelope with his own postage. {thumb2}

Question about sports teams

by Katie23 » Fri Jan 02, 2009 6:34 pm

Question, I know that if you send a request to a certain team member using the team address, they'll send an autograph. I want to send to Manchester United (which i know a few players have replied to) but the thing is that I want to send to more than one player and since it's overseas, I don't want to buy multiple IRCs. Is it possible for me to send a request for multiple players in one envelope and give them one SAE to return to me? Just wondering...
