The most amazing autograph collecting book I ever read was Operation Bullpen. It's not a book on collecting tips and such, it's a true story about the recent FBI sting of an autograph forgery ring. It's mainly about sports forgeries like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Muhammed Ali and many, many others. If you pick up this book and read it you will NEVER look at autographs the same way. I highly recommend it to every autograph collector. You'll be amazed at how extensive the forgery ring was. Even today their fake autographs still show up. They were incredibly accurate forgers that even fooled many "experts." Once you start reading it you won't be able to put it down.
