some book stores even have online ordering for book signings, too...

Yeah I wouldn't recommend writing via a store. The celebrity will have a very limited time there, they usually don't even get chance to sign for everyone who turned up. It's best just writing to the celebrity via their agency or management in my opinion :)

I don't think so :(
Maybe if you're looking for a writer/singer autograph who is signing in a shop you'd better ask the employees if they can save an autographed copy of their book/album for you... If i were in your shoes I wouldn't send a VV request in these cases.

I was wondering if when celebrities do signings/ meet&greets at stores (i.e. book signings at Barnes and Noble or Verizon Wireless held Demi's meet and greets) if they would forward fanmail to them?
