I get nervous not because of whether I'll get anything back but whether I messed up.

Did I send it the right address?
Did I put the right photos in the right envelope?
Did I add the dollars?
Did I put the right letter in?

I have check everything multiple times and even then I'm not convinced so I check all over again.

I have given up waking each day and asking if anything has arrived, because although I send to people who actually respond quite well, I know the time can vary from person to person, so I don't countdown like I used to do, because it is not always accurate. I only get nervous with the sending, not the the waiting. {thumb2}

No, you're not nuts. I get nervous sending to people, too. Especially if they don't have a lot of feedback. I recently had a failure for Maggie Gyllenhaal VV. I didn't get anything back. It was worth a shot, though. But, my nervousness pays off when I see something in the mailbox for me! [ugotmail]

Aww :(. I only got one this week, and it was Stockard Channing. [ugotmail]
My post office seems to 'hold' my autographs.
Whenever I get them, it's in pairs of two.
Even if it's dated earlier.
Like, I got Alyson Stoner and Steffani Brass, Stockard Channing and an RTS, and Phill Lewis and Clark Gilmer. It's odd  lol.

Don't be nervous. Sometimes it can take time. Who knows? Like for my Avril Lavigne via-venue, I sent it like 3 days prior the event and I haven't heard back until like 2 weeks (prob. even longer). So just don't freak out because some people just hold all their fan mail together from their tour and sign when they're done or when they have time.

Hey guys, so I totally forgot to check this, and am just doing this now.
I agree with a lot of you.
I agree with miley cyrus fan a lot, too.
And zanne, that's horrible you're mailman is blackmailing you!

Anyway, I didn't expect 2 pages of replies, but thank you all for replying!
I do worry about every little thing though, like if it got lost in the mail.
It takes a while for mail to get here though, too.
My success from Stockard yesterday was postmarked 2/23/09 but I didn't get it until yesterday..
so that may be half of the nervousness, I have autogaphs waiting and don't even know it! :P
But, this hobby is all about patience, so nervousness is just part of it. ;-)

Yea Ryan, but some people don't always admire those people you write to. I think it depends on the actor that the people write to. Personally, I don't like Will Ferrell, and I didn't know who Rob Pattinson was, and I don't really care about the Disney stars, so I wouldn't write to them, even though Ferrell is doing a lot of responding VV. I wouldn't write to a person because they're a "known responder" I write to people that I admire, even if I'm not sure they'll ever respond. I don't write to boost my collection, I genuinely want to have people I like.

I've written to Oliver Platt about 8 times, and never had a response (other than 2 RTS's). Do I get nervous sending to him? No. Because I really just want him to know how much I respect him as an actor and admire his work. If he never responds, then so be it.

This is a hobby, it should be fun, and not cause nervousness.
